@Lone Wolf , @Lee H how full do you fill the gear case? It's pretty low was gonna empty and start with fresh. Do you guys know anyone with a owner's manual? If my memory is correct, Homelite recommended sae 90 oil in the gearcase.
I use 75-90 synthetic in all my geardrives.
Don't use carb or brake cleaners as you can damage the decals and paint. I
wouldn't use any harsh detergents either like simple green, greased lighting,
purple power, etc as they will remove the decals and can hurt paint. I have a
safety kleen parts washer that works well and won't hurt paint or decals.
That's a very nice saw. It's a very late production one with the hand guard.
Have fun with it.
Thanks. And yes to your earlier post, gonna use Dawn and warm water. Few old toothbrushes, get the 1970 goo off it.Awesome looking saw !
It seems to work good. I'll spray them down a few times and let it soak in. It's not the toughest grease breaker but it won't hurt the paintThanks. And yes to your earlier post, gonna use Dawn and warm water. Few old toothbrushes, get the 1970 goo off it.
Trying to do things better now days ask before going off. I always used raw gas. There are probably better waysIt seems to work good. I'll spray them down a few times and let it soak in. It's not the toughest grease breaker but it won't hurt the paint
You can use alot of things on newer saws. The old ones are fragile lolTrying to do things better now days ask before going off. I always used raw gas. There are probably better ways

That's it yes good call. There is a brass plug on the side of the gear case that takes a flat screw driver.
You need to be very careful not to strip the spot where the screw driver goe's
so make sure you use the proper size screw driver. They can be tight. This is
the fill level with saw sitting in it's normal position.
I'l get pics tonight. The fill plug is labeled and at the top of the case. Then there is a spring loaded plug at the bottom but underneath the case, everything would run out. There is a brass plug on the side of the gear case that takes a flat screw driver.

This is overall pics. Had been sitting awhile, bought because I wanted one. All I knew was pics and it ran several years ago. I did only basic tests. Drop for comp I get tired before the bottom and give up. Clean as hell. Carb looks great on outside almost new, concern. But I will say auto, and manual oiler works great. Tank was DESERT bone dry put in some HP Ultra 50:1 maybe 6 pulls and running. Let her idle for 5 min, perfect. Boy these old girls pop and crack. Few blips seems perfect. More pics coming. And ?s
It looks like there may be a tiny plug right in front of the clutch protrusion on the gear case - right in front of the decal. The plug at the very bottom is your chain oil reservoir I think.I'l get pics tonight. The fill plug is labeled and at the top of the case. Yes both chain oil and gear oil fill are easy to find. Gear oil level screw is what I'm looking for. I'll look for the one you described. It looks like there may be a tiny plug right in front of the clutch protrusion on the gear case - right in front of the decal. Beautiful old saw!

Got it. Lol. Thank youIt's right on the side just above the chain oil fill. It's a small 1/8 pipe thread plug.
I just looked at 4 1130's and i'm looking at a 3100G as i'm typing. Can't believe
you can't find it.
