107k a year! WTF!
Yeah I'm thinking out there police officers make over $100k a year. That's why all those people from up North cone to live down here in the south. Their cost of living is so high. They retire early and sell out and move to the south and buy up places and live down here way above how they could up there.

I agree with this. The resheeting of plywood adds a good amount of material and labor. Have you had water issues? Or is the adding plywood redundant?
We have a spot that is showing some moisture issue. The rest seems fine

Did I miss something? Why are we redecking the whole roof? My roof guy allowed up to like 100 or so sqfoot of deck replacement in his quote before additional charges for replacement occured. My foot is tounge n groove so it was boards that they replaced. I don't think he used more that 2 or 3, 8or 10 foot one by 6's on my whole roof.

I'm not sure why he wants to redo it all. There is one area that has an issue but the rest seems fine

Ok I missed there was a moisture issue. But yes you are correct. A small isolated problem, just replace that effected wood. If the structural integrity is fine and it's just a staining issue it doesn't even need to be replaced. I am not a professional roofer or even contractor, but I am not an idiot, I can do a few things for myself and have an understanding of wood products.

I agree you are on the correct path. You need to get several more quotes, because this one is way out of line, especially seeing your house and the fact your not in a major metropolitan area. So unless your so far out that creates a problem working in the area, I don't see a reason that quote is so high except he wants to redeck your entire roof . Is it OSB? Maybe he has something against that and is changing it all over to ply?
