Ok heres the initial start of the 026 and 036 cylinders i recieved.both will recieve long term usage to gauge longevity.
i have no 44.7mm oem cylinder but the test cylinder will be compared to a 44mm stock cylinder.
tests will be conducted with 90 octane non ethanol with lucas semi synthetic at 32:1
everyone will have to bare with me as work invades on play time.
(word of caution if love life does happen to call sasquatch will disappear on your asses):D

ok first round for The ms260.
the bevels on the ports need some attention.someone really went to the extreme on the grinder.excess bubbles and pitting in the ports is present.outside finish is excellent.the piston seems to be lighter than an oem 44mm and requires 1.5 mm rings instead of the oem 1.2mm rings.(take note if using aftermarket meteor 1.5mm instead of 1.2mm)
rings, wrist pin and one set of clips look to be great.the eared circlips need to be tossed.according to the looks they are shiney and have no temper or spring treatment.my accessment is they will bend on installation.20170214_213827.jpg 20170214_213835.jpg 20170214_213841.jpg 20170214_215236.jpg

cylinders are definately sand cast.upon leaving them unwrapped over night the kerosene has started evaporating and some corrosion is starting to show.problem?nope its on the outside.watch on the 036 kits there is a little sand still present from moulding.

thats not good at all , is it going to b hard to fix it up
this is just initial inspection.no rework will be done.
we'll find out how well these will hold together.theyre going to see a rough life in a logging enviroment.the 360 kit will be bucking a huge red oak.the 260 will be on dead hard yellow locust and sour wood etc.

My 260 jug is much nicer Juggy. Do your jugs smell like Diesel fuel?

My 036 jug has casting flash in the lowers and a bit of chop in one port. My 260 is nearly perfect.

My builds with these will be of the ported persuasion, so I think the ports will clean up.

Hoping to get mine timed at least by this weekend. Maybe port it and then toss it on an 026. Then give it the 36" 3/8 skip chain torture test in hardwood.

Then it's getting pulled off and sent to Tommy For long term testing.

quality on this ones a little better.the holes for the top cover stud and bumper arent threaded.again the piston is pretty good and uses 1.5mm rings. bevels on the ports are some better than the 026 kit.plating looks good.
