Yeah, you can wear shorts to keep cool and still wear your protective cutting chaps - the chips will stay out of your boots.

EDIT: You just slip them on up and over your socks before you put on your boots. Then push the socks down to the boots and push the sock savers down to the top of the socks. They sit on your skin just above the socks.

Respect to all with friends and or family that sacrificed their lives for their country and the freedom of others on this Memorial Day.... And to all those that served putting themselves at the disposal of their country that they may have given their lives.
