I’m in need of some helpful tips or recommendations on cleaning out old moisture build up in gas tanks. It’s a white powder crusty looking build up and it’s in an old vintage Homelite St-400 brush cutter. It is same configuration and engine as the old homelite chainsaws. I’d appreciate any info on going about getting rid of it, thanks.

Put a mixture of small sheet metal screws, nuts, bolts into the tank seal up the holes and shake the tank.
Once your arms get tired stop for the day, then the next day repeat.
On the third day dump out the tank and plow some compressed air in it to blow all the dust out.
If clean enough rinse with some clean gas.

I agree with the above but you might try some vinegar in with the mix of nuts and screws. But I’m not a chemist

Well I’m definitely glad I asked, never would have thought to try this. Thanks!
