I got a echo 510evl given to me in none running state. Carb is a walbro HDA 20b. Cleaned carb and installed new kit took it out side and severely flooded after 6 pulls. took carb back off to see what i put in wrong ,didnt find anything but it didnt hold air when i blew air in fuel inlet so i put old needle back in and that seemed to work.so back out for round 2 and same thing. Take carb off again and decided to learn how to pressure check a carb with Mrs Googles help. well after putting pressure to fuel inlet with my ebay special vac and pressure pump it just passed the air out impulse tube......What do i have wrong fellas :BangHead:

Um... is it a new kit? Also pics would help, is the impulse in the top cover or on the side of the carb?

Be sure the metering arm hight is right...the gaskets and diaphragm's are the right way round and in the correct order !

You .......... flooded because something wrong on the metering side of carb , the needle arm or the needle , conect your pump unscrew the cover ( metering side ) and give some pumps see if the guage of your pump hold if hold the carb needle is ok
then put the mebrans and the cover and pump again if now dont hold pressure the needle arm is very high ( the mebrans and cover push the needle arm down )
Or for the unknown reason sometimes the needle stuck in its base and the saw flooded

for the pump side of carb the mebran maybe is not good , the gasket sometimes dont fit , you have put them wrong , for more accuracy tests put the carb in the water and see from where you have bubbles then concandrate to this point

good luck

In case this throws any light. Walbro HDA .... full=K 22....partial kit =D 10.
HD kits are not totally right for a HDA carb if memory serves.
Edit: That HDA 20 seems to need a more unusual kit....just looked up the kit and it comes out at K12-HDA and D11-HDA
