WANTED heated saw

Jonsered, husqvarna, stihl. Looking for something in the 60-70 cc or so. Projects are fine.
This extra cold winter and doing more cutting than normal has got me wanting to try one.

I don't like the switch location on my 550 xp cause cutting stumps low puts it near the ground. All else it performs and handles comfortably with 20 inch bar and chain. Would hate to be without the heat this year. Saves a lot of pain, from hands thawing after getting very cold.. Mild winters didn't need it much but what a blessing from God this winter.

Bought my first 044 Arctic back when and only used the heated grips a few times, fast forward 35+ years and with poorer circulation and a long in the tooth 044 I bought a 572XPG last year and now considering trying to find an Arctic 500i.

I have never been too fond of the 5 series huskies.
Ideally I am looking for Husqvarna 2 series, Jonsered 20** & 21** and 670/30/25 series, Stihl 0** series, Also would be open to Dolmar.
Were there ever any heated versions available in Mcculloch 10 series saws? Maybe @heimannm would have an answer.

When I was looking, used heated handle saws were few and to close to new in price considering what I paid for mine. I would of preferred a Stihl or maybe Dolmar but might still be looking if cost verse value meant much. After you learn the characteristics of the 550mk2 mtronic its a pleasant all around firewood saw. I carry a sub 50 cc beater saw for occasional small stumps and stubs i cut ground level where my tires might drive and back up in a pinch or whatever.

Not likely to find anything that old with heat, you might come across a 3 series with heat. I love all my 5 series heated saws. I do have a 2171 with heat, it’s ported and won’t be on sale by any means also a 2153 the same way. If your serious about buying let me know

As far as I know, McCulloch never offered a saw with heated handles. They did outfit the SP60 and SP80 models with a "cold weather kit" including a duct over the muffler to preheat the air into the airbox, but no heated handles. The cold weather kit saws were supposed to have a rubber grip on the rear handle.

I was not endorsing the 500 series Husky saws. I have no opinion on them one way or the other since I have never ran one. The only 500 series I have here is my brother's 572 that I need to repair.. He was grabbing tress with the excavator and swinging them. He forgot where the 572 was and ...smoosh. I mentioned Bruce aka @Gentleman because that is a quick way to get a heated saw. He is the site owner and a great guy. Over the last few years I have bought (14) new Husky 395's and lots of parts from him. All the the 395's were standard saws. They would have been heated ones but of course Husqvarna killed the heated 395 quite a bit ago. There was a member here selling a 044 arctic that need some work but I believe it sold. Just a bit ago Tony sold a ported 395 heated at a very good price.

My Jonsered diesel has propane in the handle to heat the jug but if the handle gets hot..............too late

I Have a Basket of Jonny 521 saws one is heated I view/viewed heated Like you. I can Identify How you feel on the subject of heated Handles.

Yes and no.
I had a ton of new heated 261, 362, 462, and 661 saws. Folks would tell me they could get them cheaper but I knew those folks were tire kickers and full of bullshet. The serious folks bought them to the tune of around (50). I did keep back a new heated 462 and 661. I have had a lot of calls in the last 2 months from folks wanting them at the old price. I often wonder why they did not buy last year..................

I used to run a couple 272 huskies with heat back in the day. The 5 series are much much smoother and their heated handles much better.
