Had a good day. Started with Breakfast out with the wife, and after the Omelet, I splurged and had dessert (I never have dessert), I got a Lindsay Tart. Have not had one for decades, but remembered loving them as a special treat growing up. One of the few things that have just stayed the same over the years!
Then, I took both Grandsons to the Fish & Game club and we shot the Bow & Arrows I gave them for their birthdays, for the first time. After that, the three of us rode bikes around the neighborhood, along with a few other neighborhood kids.
My Dad is "Gone but not Forgotten", and that is one of many expressions he used to use all the time. There were so many that my former co workers were amused when I used them, but they all came from him. I often have trouble remembering them until the situation calls for it.
Often used ones included "Make Hay while the Sun is Shining", "Handsome is as Handsome Does" "Don't put off till tomorrow what you can to today" and "Quality will be remembered long after the price paid is forgotten".
Sometimes my father would declare "It is time for bed", and my brother and I would look at each other and say "Dad's Tired", which was an unusual circumstance since he usually only got 4 hours sleep a night, generally going to bed at 2 am and waking at 6 am.
Miss you Dad!!!
