Oh. And just to make it interesting...
Post up your favorite "dad-isms"---- quotes that only your dad would/could say.

I'm famous for saying " you got a better chance of turning Puerto Rican then getting that "... Whenever my kids wanted something...

Happy Fathers Day fellas.

My Father had a seemingly endless supply of "Dad-ism's" and drew 'em out like Jose Wales would a revolver. One of the more memorable ones was when asked why I did something and I replied that my friends were doing it. He would ask me; "if my friends were eating a dog turd, would I eat one too?" RIP Pops.

Had a good day. Started with Breakfast out with the wife, and after the Omelet, I splurged and had dessert (I never have dessert), I got a Lindsay Tart. Have not had one for decades, but remembered loving them as a special treat growing up. One of the few things that have just stayed the same over the years!

Then, I took both Grandsons to the Fish & Game club and we shot the Bow & Arrows I gave them for their birthdays, for the first time. After that, the three of us rode bikes around the neighborhood, along with a few other neighborhood kids.

My Dad is "Gone but not Forgotten", and that is one of many expressions he used to use all the time. There were so many that my former co workers were amused when I used them, but they all came from him. I often have trouble remembering them until the situation calls for it.

Often used ones included "Make Hay while the Sun is Shining", "Handsome is as Handsome Does" "Don't put off till tomorrow what you can to today" and "Quality will be remembered long after the price paid is forgotten".

Sometimes my father would declare "It is time for bed", and my brother and I would look at each other and say "Dad's Tired", which was an unusual circumstance since he usually only got 4 hours sleep a night, generally going to bed at 2 am and waking at 6 am.

Miss you Dad!!!

Oh, and the other one I now have to mention "Life is for the living".

Also, when we passed cemeteries "People are just dying to get in there", and when we passed the mountains along the Hudson River "Do you see the imaginary Indians up there", and we always looked for them!

Stuff my dad would say

Busier than a cat covering *s-word on a tin roof.

Were off like a herd of turtles

BIOYA blow it out your ass

GFY

What a cock holster

He would always tell me when I was in school that it didn't matter what I did as long as I told him the truth he would go to bat for me. He was kicked out of Catholic grad school for calling a nun a hood *b-word.

Man I miss my dad every dam day and all I can say is guys go to the doctor and get them tests done. If he did he would still be here today kicking ass.
