Tried out that ugly gforce exodus today
The targets I bought suck i can't see bullet hits IMG_20250920_171519481_HDR.jpg
Great fiber optic sights I just couldn't see where they were going
I was about 12ydsIMG_20250920_175208564.jpg
I moved to a blank spot to shoot the arex
It's my favorite pistol now
It's snappier than the Glock, smith, gforce, taurus ts9,fn CZ pistols I've shot
It's quite a bit slimmer and lighter than any of them
Kind of like a 4" shield or gx4 carry pistol
I really like the trigger on mine.
Both did great on the plate rack IMG_20250920_175532897_HDR.jpgIMG_20250920_170933941_HDR.jpg
And I tried out the tx .22
Worked great no issues seems easier to shoot than my original tx .22 must be the bull barrel and lighter slide

So, I'm getting my .257 Roberts ready for deer season and ran out of Hodgdon 4350. My rifle is normally well under an inch with 38.5 grains of H4350 under a Sierra 117. I do have plenty of H-380 and Hybrid 100V though, and several boxes of 117 grain Sierra Pro Hunters and Hornady Interlock BTSP. Before I make the painful decision to drop 70 bux on another bottle of H4350, would you guys know of any good loads for these bullets and powders? Rifle is a Howa 1500 rebarrelled by E R. Shaw with a 24" magnum sporter 1:10 stainless tube.

After meticulous calculations I conclude that:
- if it goes BANG You are still good and can increase the load a bit more
- if it goes BOOM the charge was too high and You should reduce it once You come out of the hospital

You are welcome! :)

This has got me wanting to make some bullets. If there wasn't 3 piles of saw on my reloading bench I might get started today.

Leave piles of unorganized reloading stuff on your bench and that won't happen, I promise.
I hear you. My reloading stuff is about the only thing that stays organized. Not sure where the load data is but everything else is ready to go.

Today before work I tried 35, 35.4, 35.8, and 36 grains of H-380 with the 117 grain Sierra at 150 yards. All were quite accurate, 36 grains seems to have the same POI as my usual load of 38.5 grains H-4350. I'll try 36-37 grains next time. Also, while loading my rounds last night I discovered that my rifle will in fact chamber them just fine at the Sierra recommended OAL of 2.775. My resizing die wasn't screwed down all the way and not bumping the shoulder enough. Never too old to learn something new!

If anybody has the pages from the Hornady manual for the .257 Roberts that they could share I would appreciate it.

It's almost worse when they all shoot tight as opposed to one load standing out. When it does that I was told to go with the smaller one so the barrel last longer. The 380 a slightly faster burn rate?

According to the Hodgdon burn rate chart, H-380 sits in the middle between Reloder 15 and H-4350. Yes, I always go for accuracy and lower pressure before anything else. Hybrid 100V is a pretty slow powder, probably won't really work on that one until the H-380 runs out and then I'll see if it does any better. I only bought it because my dealer had a sweet deal on it at the time, about half price. For most rifle cartridges I go with H-335, IMR 4895, or IMR 4064.
