Yikes! Now I understand why you don’t want to go that route.
And I’m not saying people haven’t had good luck with Taurus and I know all companies can have issues but the way mine was handled didn’t inspire confidence in the repairs especially with a cartridge as big as .454 or 480 ruger/460 smith.

Yeah, that type of customer service makes me hope I don't have issues with any of mine.

I buy Taurus and Rossi guns knowing full well that their customer service is not much above none at all.

Over on the Cast Boolits forum there are many stories about Taurus and Rossi service being bad. I have a Taurus 85 that is in for service right now. The barrel is twisted a bit to the right, causing groups to land to the left. The revolver actually shoots great otherwise. All they have to do is turn the barrel a little to the left and all should be good. I'm hoping they fix it properly and don't make the problem worse or say that it is within specs.

All my other Taurus and Rossi guns have been great, I wouldn't keep buying them otherwise. I have a really nice Taurus 856 on layaway right now in fact.

What is wrong with them to be marked down so much?
Many positive reviews on them but apparently the looks of that series never made it popular
Feels real blocky in hand and the trigger sucks imho
I never fired one but my local gunstore has a few never sold one of them they told me.
This is actually a redesign

Here's what they originally looked like I kinda prefer the original
I'm sure they're good quality being beretta
And they stand behind their products
But they missed the mark on this design.

Honestly If I was in the market for a inexpensive quality 9mm I'd just buy the arex delta m
Having owned and shot most common service pistols except the Walther PDP and Springfield echelon series
I prefer the ergonomics, trigger and accuracy of the arex
I was looking at the rost martin rm1c ported a us made version licensed using arex designs and the rm1s compact.
But I already have the arex.

Bob Magnum. 300 wsm necked down to 6.5 with a 130 grain bullet (maybe larger) compared to a 6.5 grendel 107 grain. Ladder testing 4 shot groups best load was 1.5 inch at 600 yards light crosswind. Worst was 2.5”. Bob’s doing not mine.

That looks like the case body has been shortened as well as necked down?

You guys with Winchester 94's in .30-30: do you find it likes 150 or 170 grain bullets best? My Marlins do great with Hornady 170's so that's what I feed them. My 94 shoots 170's well within minute of deer, but I'm wondering if 150's would do better. From what I understand, the Winchester has a slower twist than Marlin, so in theory a lighter bullet would be more accurate. My 94 wears sights and has me pulling the trigger so I'll take all the extra accuracy help I can get!

It does, doesn't it. Case should be a fair bit longer than the grendel than what it shows. The overall length difference looks about right. I may have forgotten that part.

I wonder if that one is actually based on the Winchester Super Short Mag. They came in .22, 24, and .25 calibers and were around for about 15 minutes during the short mag craze of the 2000's.

Thought about that. Pretty sure he told me he had necked down to.264 from 300. Been awhile.

My 94 carbine has always liked 170 grain best, super X specifically, corelockt is good too.
It doesn’t group 150 grain blue box federal it patterns them.
Other brands of 150 isn’t horrible just 170 is better.
My Canadian centennial shot everything very well

Thanks for the experience. I loaded up the last of the 150's I had today, will try them out this week. If they don't do alot better than the 170's then I will just stay with those.

I think that’s a side effect that has to happen when necking a round down depending on how much the shoulder angle will change effectively making overall length shorter.
