I've been on a big revolver kick this spring, 'specially with my snubbies. I have an S&W 637, old school and new school Charter Arms Undercovers, and a Taurus 856. I shoot them all the same, about an inch above point of aim at 12 yards. Typical load is a 146 grain semi-wadcutter or 148 grain wadcutter at 700 fps. Hence, my interest in the Heritage/Taurus Roscoe. The longer barrel adds about 50 fps more velocity with only a bit more size and weight.

One wheel gun I really want is an S&W 67, a stainless adjustable sights K frame .38. Mebbe I can trim enough out of the tax refund to make it happen without getting in trouble! ;-)

I was perusing GunBroker for 67's and found a Taurus 82 in a shop that is a few counties over. The 82 is the Taurus version of the S&W 15 or 67, a six shot .38 with adjustable sights. They aren't rare, but never seem to come up locally. I've had good success with Taurus so I bid on it and won. I picked it up today and high tailed back to the house for a test drive.

The revolver has a fair amount of finish wear and scratches on the grips, might have been a police or security gun. Action feels pretty tight and timing looks good, barrel to cylinder gap is still on the snug side. I was glad to see it is marked as a Taurus USA gun and not a second party import, so the warranty should still be good on it. I painted the front sight white as I do on all my wheelguns.

I tried 3.5 grains Hodgdon Clays under a 143 grain SWC, a load that clocks 870 fps and is pretty accurate in my S&W 10-5 and Ruger Service Six. The 83 did not disappoint, making neat golf ball size groups at 15 yards which is as good as I can do with any of my other handguns. Looks like this one will be going for a lot of walks in the woods!

Springfield Armory(HS Produkt) released the Kuna this week. It's a roller delayed blowback pdw for under $1k. Reviews say soft shooting but not as good as mp5. Sold out everywhere. As luck would have, I got one coming this week. I won it in a raffle. If you like firearms and have a gambling problem, do NOT go to nft2a.com.

Very impressed with the accuracy
My eyesight is falling and I thought I'd have to rely on optics but I shoot this quite well
That's 17rnds at 12yds
It just fits my hands perfectly IMG_20250422_185918901_HDR.jpg

The arex are made in
Slovenia and used by military and police in several countries
rost Martin licensed them to manufacturer a redesigned version made in america now.

So, I have a 1989 S&W 67-2 that spent its previous life with the Tennessee Dept. of Corrections. Lots of holster wear and dings to the finish but doesn't seem to have been fired a huge amount. It does have quite a bit of end shake however, about .006. It also has some light strikes, which could be the end shake or just a tired main spring. Yes, the strain screw is tight! Otherwise, the revolver is really accurate, right up there with my 1967 10-5.

I went ahead and ordered a new main spring and cylinder and yoke shims. I figure I'll replace the main spring and use a .004 cylinder shim to get most of the end shake out. If that solves the light strikes and accuracy is still good, then I'll leave it be. Does that sound reasonable? I have read that it's best to have some end shake, at least .001, but .006 is a lot and I think is the main cause of the light strikes.

I went ahead and sent S&W a message about it. I've read that they will quite often warranty second owner guns if you are nice about it. Even if they want a modest fee, I didn't spend a huge amount on this gun so I would still be doing ok.

I bought a S&W 329PD (Scandium framed .44 Mag) 2nd hand. Within about 100 shots, the frame cracked. I sent it back to S&W and I had a brand new one back in a couple weeks. If it's a S&W, they'll take care of you.

I got a reply from S&W, they are sending me a shipping label. They didn't say whether they would warranty it one way or another but I guess this is a good sign. As said before, I really don't think this gun was fired much. There is only a ghost of a turn line on the cylinder and the internals look spotless. I don't see any forcing cone cracks or erosion, which was known to happen with the +P+ loads that were in vogue when this gun was made.

That Arex is a very nice looking gun, same accuracy as my Sig M11-A1.
I've sold off stuff I don't shoot anymore and bought a second arex delta m
A black one this time
I'm extremely impressed with the quality and
It's 6lb crisp double action makes it easy to carry and shoot with
It's like a large hellcat or shield plus
Gx4 carry etc. it's slim and easy to handle
I guess the market is so flooded with good striker fired pistols anymore to get these much notice
I read they are big in other countries and supply military and police forces.

In the 90s I bought a very used and abused 4506
And discovered the frame was cracked
Smith replaced the frame and barrel no charge
I may had paid shipping I don't remember
But I did send it through USPS as parts lol
Was like 6.00 roundtrip
Took like 2 weeks iirc
