My next purchase M&P 22x 20rnd .22lr
I'm a huge fan of the 2.0 trigger's all of mine are excellent
If it's even near the reliability and accuracy of my
Taurus tx .22s I'll be happy
I really like ege m&p .22 mag but too pricey to shoot.
I like the M&P. Accurate, reliable, and proven. In the bigger bores, the low bore height makes rapid follow up shots easier.

The Sig/GSG/American Tactical 1911-22 is fun also if you are a "retro" kind of guy. 🤣

As I understand it, the biggest problem with the Walker trigger in the 700 is that it was not intended to have a particularly light pull and/or be adjusted by the owner, but Remington still made it adjustable. So, of course people adjusted it down to super light and crisp with the sear holding on to the cocking piece only by its finger tips. Add to that honest wear, dirt, and jostling around from typical hunting use and it's not surprising you would have some AD's. I have a 2018 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor which has what I understand to be a non-adjustable Walker trigger. The pull is kind of heavy but very crisp and consistent, and this rifle will put them all into one hole at 150 yards so I'm not going to mess with it!

That looks like a sweet piece. Do you know if it uses the same mechanical design of the centerfire M&P? The rimfire and 5.7 M&P pistols at my shop are actually hammer fired.

My gunsmith friends said the problem they saw the most was whatever lubricant would
Attract grime to the sears and contact points
Before the recall they'd scrub down the action or swap them for after market trigger's
I guess it was a very common issue back then
I never was into rifles much and never had one of those.
