Poured me some more Lee 175 grain slugs for the Glock 23 today. I size 'em to .401 with RCBS 8008 lube. Loaded to 1.098 with 3.8 grains of HP-38 or Titegroup they are very clean and accurate.

That’s a nice looking batch of bullets. I think I have done just about everything in reloading in lots of calibers and all gauges but casting bullets. Looks like a nice job there.

Thanks. I use range scrap lead for all my cartridge bullets, nothing fancy. Pure lead for muzzleloader bullets. Most of my molds are Lee other than a few designs that are only available from other makers. The Lee six cavity molds with handle on the sprue cutter are my favorite, you can make bullets in a hurry with those.

I size them in a Lyman 450 with RCBS 80008 lube. This lube is soft enough to flow easily without heat, even though it is advertised as a pistol lube I find it works great on rifle bullets too. Truth be told, most bullets can be used as cast by just dipping them in Lee Liquid Alox and drying for 48 hours.

I use SPG bullet lube on my BPCR bullets. Although i buy them by the box I size them and lube them myself. I also use it on 45 Colt. I buy Lazer Cast 250 gr , use gasoline to melt out their lube and then replace it with mine (SPG). SPG is the best lube to use with black powder. If you use a lubricant intended for smokeless in my guns , they try to make diamonds out of the abundant carbon soot left after each round. Black powder is just different in a lot of ways.

Went to look around at the fun store today to see what was in the used gun crab trap. They had an S&W SD40 for $260.00 and an SD9 for $220.00. I already have a couple of SD9's and they shoot really good. Asked the guy what they would take for both and he said $425.00. So, I put 'em in layaway jail. I'm really enjoying mild lead bullet loads out of my Glock 23 so it's nice to have another 40. The 9 I can use as a garage/loaner gun or trading stock when I need some.

Just got this back from cerakoting. I built and shot this rifle in Steel Challenge last summer. Its a Ruger 10/22 with a chassis made of square aluminum tubing. Its stock except Kidd trigger. The barrel is a 5" liner I bought on ebay for $30. I pressed it into an aluminum slug and pinned it to legal length with some titanium tubing. It's light and balances well. 20250210_135515.jpg

I bought 2 more Magpul Pmags and run 150 rounds through the RXM today. Only issue was the slide would lock back with 1 round still in one of the mags. I took it apart and put it back together and it seems ok now.

I discovered something useful today while exercising my S&W SD9 and Glock 19. I have a bad habit of pulling the sights off target when pressing the trigger. Turns out, this tendency is greatly reduced if I make sure that there is a slight drag from contact between the bottom of my trigger finger and the inside of the trigger guard. Seems counterproductive, but it works for me!

@Czed Hey Dave have you had any issue with OEM Glock mags hitting on the slide release on your RXM and keeping it locked back?

I had an ETS mag for my Glock 42 that would do that. ETS sent me a new spring and follower and that fixed it. On my little Kel Tec P32 I removed the slide stop so it won't lock back. This gun has no external slide stop lever so if it gets stuck open you could be in danger.

I only have glock 23 OEM mags I haven't tried them yet in the
Ruger but they would run 9mm in the 23 with an aftermarket barrel.
I'm really liking the ETS omegas with the steel feedlips
Absolutely flawless so far
The original ETS never gave me any problems either
I am going to buy 4 mec gar glock 19 mags when they are available
Sold out everywhere so far.
I never was the biggest fan of OEM Glock mags I know they work but they have odd issues with binding for me.

I made a little red dot installation station IMG_20250217_105956472.jpg
The Milwaukee torx bits give much better fit than the supplied allen or torx wrenches do.
I've removed several screws guy's have stripped the heads out with them.
