Autoloaders are hard on scopes and red dots, I wouldn't buy anything cheaper than Vortex or upper end Bushnell.

Yeah I love my P-07 and plan to carry it soon but I want to get a little more range time with it before I start carrying it.

I plan to, at some point, try my hand at pistol competition and use the P-09 for that. I don't consider myself good enough to legitimately compete but want to use the competition as training and I feel that having a competition gun with the same feel and controls as my carry gun would be the best training.

Wow, awesome deal! Today I sighted in my new to me Glock 42. Added a steel front sight and OEM minus connector and she shoots almost as good as my first one I've had for about 12 years. Load is a 100 grain plated flat point over 3.2 grains Titegroup, a Makarov level load.

Been trying to sort out the RCBS 30-150-FNGC in my Winchester 94 .30-30 and think I'm finally there. 24 grains Hodgdon 335 seems to shoot as good as my pet jacketed loads. Shots start to scatter further as you increase the charge. This rifle is a pretty rough 200.00 pawn shop rescue and I've been sorting it out for awhile now.

The gold standard powder for lead slugs in .30-30 has long been Reloader 7 but that stuff is over 50 bux a pound if you can even find it. H335 is pretty widely available and around $35.00 a pound so I've been using it a lot lately. Gonna try it in my .308's also.

Gave the 94 more exercise today and it confirmed the earlier results, 24 grains H-335 is the load for 150 grain lead slugs. Shoots pretty much POA and I can call fliers no problem. Good thing, because I'm down to my last two boxes of shells with Reloader 7 and I don't feel like paying $55.00 a pound to replace it. I wonder if the same charge will shoot well with a 170 grain bullet. H-335 is supposed to be a slower powder than R7, meaning 24 grains would be somewhat lower pressure and power level, but my experience has been quite the opposite. H335 reminds me more of Accurate 5744, which is a very fast rifle powder.

Today I tried the 24 grains H-335/RCBS 150 side by side with the trusted standard of 24 grains Reloader 7/170grain Lee. Turns out both loads are equally accurate and shoot to the same POA in my rifles. Bonus!

Anybody ever try an S&W SD9? Been looking at them at work and I really like the super simple design, ergonomics, and trigger pull. Takes M&P sights. The gray frame/black slide looks really kewl and is the same price as the regular one.

Had a good experience with S&W this week.
I bought a used 625 JM revolver in 45acp last week.
That particular model has a gold bead front sight. The gold bead was missing when I got the gun.
After trying to find a replacement online, I contacted S&W, in an attempt to buy the sight assembly.
They sent me the entire assembly and included the roll pin, spring and plunger, all at no charge.
I received the parts in three days.
Someone there understands customer service!

I really like the super simple design of the SD, actually more than the M&P, and spare parts are dirt cheap and easy to find. The owner of the fun store said he would try to find a gray and black SD9 for me, currently selling a Glock 22 that I lost interest in to finance it.

I have a couple of G22’s. I have one set up for my wife, with a laser, as her nightstand gun. She loves it and doesn’t shoot anything else. The other one is somewhere in a safe and rarely gets shot. Unfortunately I have a boat load of brass in 40 S&W and bullets sitting around, so I hate to get rid of it.
The .40 S&W came on strong and fizzled out quickly. It’s not a bad cartridge and with either a 165g or 180g bullet at 1,000fps, is a good self defense round.

I load my .40's to approximate the .38-40 or .44 Special. 175 grain lead slug over 3.5 grains Clays for ~800 fps. Still cycles the G22 every time. I'm not getting rid of my brass or reloading stuff, just not terribly interested in .40's right now and want to finance a new toy. If I like the SD9 I may get an SD40 to go with it.
