I put the 66” Granberg double ended bar onto a new to me 394xp and it seems like the chain is rubbing the clutch drum a little and sparking sometimes. Is this an adjustment issue or is it not compatible?

As long as you have the correct mount or adapter for the power head and bar, they should be compatible. What pitch chain are you running and what sprocket do you have on your 394.

I just bought the 394 I didn’t check the sprocket I assume it’s stock. I am using the Granberg ripping chain that came with the bar .404 .063. And the adapter to go from 9mm-12mm.

I’m thinking your 394 may have a 3/8 sprocket. That’s the first thing I’d check.

3/8 is what came on my brother's 395, I'm guessing that's what yours is set up with as well. Easy enough to check, just pop the clutch and drum off and take a look.

I think you want a standard 7 spline 7 tooth 404 sprocket for your setup.
