When I saw the Denso name I remember the Nippon Denso gold palladium wire electrode plugs we ran in our race bikes. They were thin wire and always had a good hot spark and not prone to fouling. I've never seen short reach wire plugs for something like a chainsaw. I can't see from the picture, but it appears that the plug is a conventional plug, is that correct?

Are you guys saying that the Jiangdiang spark plugs I've been buying from the guy in the alley behind the grocery store are no good?

Any other good buys back there?

Some time ago, say about 50 years ago, you had had to buy 9 plugs for a V8 to make sure you didn't have to go back and get another live one. They are much better now.

The only two failures I've had in the last 20 years were two NGK's and one Champion.

Yes they are Terry, I've used them for years. My local Stihl dealer uses Denso as replacements on all Stihl repairs/service. I suppose it's one of the last spark plug manufacturers to still produce plugs in the same country they started instead of going offshore to minimise costs. I've still got a few German Bosch's but I've never had an issue with Denso. But I can say that about Champion even the Brazil Bosch's. I've had the electrode wire brake off 2 NGK's and others have lasted 100's of hours.

The BPMR7A has Brazil made, China made and Japan made. Only the Japan made have Japan stamp on them.

Old fellow that I used to help in the woods had problems with his sachs 112 quitting when it warmed up. He stuck a lot of money into it and had me put electronic ignition on it and rebuild the carburetor.(he diagnosed it himself) Nothing seemed to help. I gave him one of my ngk plugs while his saw was stuck in the cut. When he started it and it ran great, he cussed at his bosch and threw it into the woods as far as he could. A couple of weeks later, we were skidding, he found that plug again, stuck in the sidewall of his rear tractor tire.

Haha there is a real moral to that story

What's a 'crossover'? - Is it a conventional thick center electrode spark plug or a thin wire plug?

Basically the same thing as the bosch, so I'm sure it's a thick center electrode.

The ones I pictured are conventional, they're the bpmr7a equivalent.

Is there a way to purchase some of these plugs. I did not read to whole thread. Forgive me if it is there in the stream.
Just send me a pm if it is possible.

I think mine is the most genuine.
Straight from the stihl. And they are stealing your money from that too.

There are two kinds of bpmr7a, I prefer the ones that don’t have the removable terminal on them. Both will work on a saw, but sometimes the removable terminal ones will have that part loosen from vibration or removing the spark plug boot. The unscrew-able terminal is more idiot proof. Also a lot of the newer bpmr7a are made in Brazil. I still like them, but the older made in Japan ones were longer lasting imo.
