gas cap HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this cap is frozen to the tank. Have put all kinds of penetrating oil on it no luck. Can anyone give me some info on how to get it loose. Don't want to put pliers on it . Thanks

Use a pair of channel locks with some rubber in between the cap and jaws.

Wrap the jaws on the biggest pair of Channellocks you have in electrical tape, heat it up and go.

If you don't have a strap wrench then I would use a strap of leather to protect the cap then put the channel locks on that. The leather will provide some much needed grip. Just make sure the leather is a little more on the rough side so it will grip a little better.

Soft jawed pliers that gunsmiths use. Jaws are curved on these.
They are used to remove magazine tubes on shotguns and such.

I had that issue on my Reed Prentice. Grabbed it with soft jaws smoking hot. Snapped the top right off. Threaded part still stuck in the hole. Ended up cutting it in 3. Little JB weld and its as good as new.

I had to break a cap on the tank of a Mac 125 .Took me forever to find another one .I used a wire brush on a Dremel to the tank threads and Kopr- Kote them .
