I found 90 gallon gas can cabinet on market place for cheap. Not sure how fire safe they are. What do you guys think about turning it into a gun and ammo storage for my garage. Its 54x23x65 so it would have alot of space. Would just need to build some shelf for it.

Sounds like a plan to me...but as stated just above my post, need to invest in prob two 18", 24", or 36" Lockdown Goldenrod dehumidifier rods. If it's going to be in a garage with temp swings/humidity swings/etc, it'll be the best investment you make. I run two 18" Lockdown Goldenrods in one 64-gun safe in the house, and a single 24" same in a little bit smaller gun safe.

Throw up some pics of this thang...

looks like I missed out on it. I was going to put gel packs and a golden rod in it. Would have made alot of good storage and not look like a gun safe in my garage.

If you need a place to keep some guns Lee I got room in my safe.

A flammables cabinet is designed to keep a fire started inside the cabinet from spreading to outside the cabinet. Not the other way around like a gun safe or fire proof file cabinet.

My opinion, go for it. Any place to stash a gun or 10 that won’t look like gun safe, the better. Thieves won’t think to look for valuables in a cabinet like that. Hidden in plain sight.

Bought this off an old buddy who was moving and didn’t want to take it with.

Plan was to get it in my basement which was no issue. But then I moved and have no access to get it downstairs.

She’s all painted up with nowhere to go but to my detached garage.
