Hi, Could anyone who own a Stihl line trimmer FS94, please tell me yours drive shaft is flexible or solid steel. As per parts and manual on the internet, stated "flexible shaft", I Just find out mine is solid steel pull off the gear head, some youtube video has different answer as well, very interesting!

It looks like the FS94 uses both the flexible and the solid. Just depends on the
Gear head from serial number 516962085
Gear head up to serial number 514309587
It's in the ipl

hi, Ray, thank you for your reply. As I look at your uploaded PDF page 18 and 21, both illustration photo shows flexi shaft, but you mean by look at gear head's serial number, it tells you flexible or solid shaft?

I looked at the ipl again and see they show the same 4137 711 3202 number. That comes up as a flex shaft. Looked at the ipl yesterday and thought the numbers were different. Sorry, my mistake. The ipl is 2019 so maybe Stihl has made changes. Need a newer ipl.
LS engineers shows solid drive shaft 4149 711 3203 for the FS94.

Check your inbox. A member stepped up and sent ipl - European version, probably also Australia. That is why my usa ipl didn't show it.:BangHead:

Thanks Ray, just check my gear head serial number on FS94 which is 4130 641 0305, come up the same number on my another line trimmer which is solid shaft on FS65-4. I assume the solid shaft on my fs94 is genuine as I bought it from second hand. Thank you again for been very helpful.
