Throttle cable sticking, butterfly not aligned or bent shaft. Those are things to check.

Could you slightly waller out the shaft holes? Maybe add some grease or graphite or both

If you tried resetting the throttle plate then it's time to pull.the shaft.

Definitely not the throttle control rod, I completely removed it and doesn't help

Didn't have any problems like this in 38+ degree weather. Only when it's colder, I will be switching to husky xp+ oil here shortly, cannot afford red armor any longer

I assume you already tried spraying the carburetor shafts/linkages with wd40 and see if it still does it?

Try turning in the idle stop screw a 1/4 turn or so, and see if it still binds.

Yep sprayed the shafts, no change, only thing that works with lube is pb blaster sprayed into the mixture jet screw holes, then immediately it works perfect

Holy crap! I just realized its you Scott! How you doing you ole fart?

I find that the carbs can rub on the plastic carb base. the throttle shaft on the flywheel side of the carb has a piece (the idle screw stop) that tends to drag on the carb base. grind a little room on the carb base, or on the idle screw stop.

at 10:45 here ... on a 350

Well just pulled the trigger on the new zama from jacks for that really good price. In the meantime, I will continue to screw with this hda
