Ice storms suck. We had almost a half inch of ice on the trees here the second week of February, and it was devastating to the woods, in addition to dangerous travel and prolonged power outages. I was still cleaning up the damage from Helene at that point, and I'll be cleaning ice storm damage for a lot longer than that. The mills have quit buying white pine sawlogs, and are offering only bopttom dollar for hardwoods, because they're getting glutted. So everything I'm cutting now is just getting piled up. It's very discouraging.
