The only thing that I can think of is the lack of ring and piston skirt support with these fingers and bridges. I just can imagine them doing a long service life in a working man's saw. If Dennis says it was done than I have to believe it but I'd bet ring life was shorter. Please continue I'm digging the info.

I will admit that I have No working knowledge of any of this stuff, I'm just a silly farm kid that likes to take stuff apart.

That just puts you in the same boat with the rest of us.

Exactly.

I can throw ideas out with the best of them........but the reality of it is that I just kept trying different things till I found what seems to for me on the saws I build.

I keep notes on most every model I do, and I'm always tweaking my "recipes". I hope I never stop seeing new models......cause that's where the fun of it is for me now.

Think about how many Homlite, Mac and Poulan are out there with open port cylinders that are still going. Granted they don't the RPM that new saw do....

We all have to get in one location and talk and run saws, randy and Scott and Mike, deeter and kevin the list goes on but I could talk for days about this stuff.

Somebody needs to set a date and we just do it. I can't wait to meet you guys.

Well sure that will work but not exactly easy to do as appose to a little grinding
Never said it was easy.
Figured since we were on the topic, and boost ports are in the same category, I'd throw it out there.
Perhaps someone with more knowledge than you or I will have some info to share.
I've got pics somewhere. Might be a saw @tree monkey built.....not sure.
I like concept.....that's kinda why I posted that to begin with.

Now that would be a show that would be worth every penny of the admission price. Maybe sty57 and I could split a case of wobbly pops
