Might have lucked out, Just looked at my E-Mails and it has been shipped by UPS. Won't be here till Tuesday. We will see if it's busted up.
Usually they are OK. Once in a while the ruin them not all the time. Maybe its the cheap ,flimsy Chinese cardboard boxes !!!!!!!! Not joking.

Bought a saw from a fella in Washington state a few months back...it was a complete shipping fiasco. I tracked the saw all the way, when it got to the Macon, Ga hub, FedEx claimed I made a 'request to hold' merchandise there. Hell...I paid for shipping to my damn residence, in typical fashion like anyone else would. I raised immortal hell with them...at one time, they had an update while tracking the saw, saying it was gonna be shipped back to the guy in Washington...WTF!! The hub manager had one of his guys who lives a few miles from me personally bring it to me in his POV after work. One of my older sisters ran this same Macon, Ga hub many years ago before she retired from FedEx. They have gone downhill over the last several years.

I suppose they just hire anyone , no more looking for a qualified delivery person just anyone at all. They were trying to push off a route on a friend of mine they wanted like 70,000.00 he said no!

Fed ex sucks. I've gotten way too many things with beat up or broken boxes. Hell sometimes the stuff inside is broken. This was last month. View attachment 19186we'll fix it with some stickers. LolView attachment 19187needless to say it was broken and had to be exchanged. Second one still had holes but wasn't actually broken.
That's disgraceful they should have more respect

waited around for a package because their online authorization service doesn't work
they say nobody was home, which we were specifically for them
they left no call tag
call to customer service is of course a robo-call center and then a mumble-mouthed unhelpful witch who just says that I cant go pick it up at the hub this evening (which is normally what I have to do) but because it is a home delivery it is handled by someone else and doesn't go back to the hub so I can wait around tomorrow on the package or if I ask it to be held I can wait till they call me Monday or later to tell me it has been delivered back to the hub where I can go get it
worst of all the delivery companies to my address, USPS, UPS, DHL are all stellar, hell I give them Christmas cards, but Fed Ex SUCKSSSSSSSSSS.
had to vent, while I WONDER WHERE MY SAW IS TONIGHT
Dave
Sorry Dave you are getting shafted by these clowns

What amazed me was, under this BS 'I asked that the pkg be held at the Macon, Ga hub'...the only way a request like that could be made, was if I created a FedEx account, logged in, and manually chose that option...dude, I ain't got no FedEx account, never have had one, never will have one. I simply track with an app on my IPhone, just like UPS and USPS. I paid to have the shipping ALL THE WAY to my driveway, lol...why in the hell would I request a pkg be sent 9/10ths of the journey then drive 20 miles of my time to get it, lol? They couldn't quite come up with an answer for that basic, idiot-proof question.

i ship fedex over ups because fedex is about 20% cheaper and on my end i have less trouble with fedex. ups is the one that crunches packages and breaks stuff. I think its a regional/area thing more than the entire company being terrible. local drivers and the guys in the hub that pack the trucks have more to do I never used to ship saws by usps but have started here lately to cut shipping costs and so far usps is not very impressive on timely delivery or actually getting a package to the destination.

I agree Fedex does SUCKKKKKKKKKK. The last package I sent out, they pre-authorized my card for the amount that should have been charged. I had put in measurements and weight online. When they actually charged my card a few days later they charged me 5 dollars more. No reason or explanation given. The only way to get out of them doing this is to pay cash at a drop off place.

Try under estimating the weight on every package....fedex themselves told me to do that because they will never refund money. If you print the label for 20 lbs and it only weighs 18 the shipping will be cheaper, they wont refund you but if you print the label for 18lbs and it actually weighs 20, they will charge you the extra. vast majority of the time you will get away with it to because the sales rep told me they dont weigh/measure every package, instead they do random checks that only amount to like 25% of the packages. Not sure how true that is but its what the fedex rep told me and the driver has told me the same thing.

I weighed the package myself and printed my label. Then I traveled 45 min to the fedex place and watched them put it on their scale. They told me weight and measurements checked out that it was exactly the same as what I had. They printed up the sticky label and sent it on it's way. Even though I had everything correct, I was still charged more and never given any kind of explanation.

USPS is fine.......until they lose a 25lb powerhead.
Yes,your experience is well documented. I'll be pissed when I get hosed. But until then I'll take my chances.

Don't hate FedEx as a whole company. Home Delivery and FedEx Ground are just contractors. The drivers pay their own insurance, make truck payments, buy fuel, maintain their own trucks and get paid by the piece not hourly.

Only FedEx Express are real FedEx employees.

FedEx bought RPS(Roadway Package Systems) and made it FedEx Ground.

UPS bought Roadway and made them UPS Freight but they operate as 2 separate companies. Not the same union or contracts and Freight doesn't make the $$ the real UPS drivers make.

It's a gamble with any of'em...all depends on the hands that handle the pkg throughout its' destination. Like any other job, I'm sure some of the folks that work at the individual carriers ain't worth pissin' on if they were on fire, when it comes down to it. For these generations of slack-asses now...pride in a job is a commodity nowadays. Shrug!!!

Why does Amazon ship a half inch wrench in a box big enough for a microwave?
