@166 could you please post a picture of my favorite heated saw that I will soon have enough funds to purchase? Franks

I have a few more but these are the pretty ones. I have the stuff to build 4 more but can’t decide which saws to add it too

Very nice saws gentlemen!

Anyone know what the first saw was with heated handles? 521 is the earliest that I know of but I wouldn’t be surprised if there was another before that.

I have never seen a heated handle saw. Not much call for them in the south. Though I was wishing for one Saturday felling and bucking a big oak in 8 degree weather.

Only heated saw I’ve ever had is the 044 arctic that was give to me by a local logger blown up.

They sure aren't as common around here as you'd think they'd be. I guess most people, even those who cut 10+ cords every year for a boiler, generally tell to buy the cheapest saw that will do the job. The price jump to a pro saw must seem bad enough to begin with that heated handles don't even get noticed. Seems like stihl could sell a heated handle 291 like hot cakes. Call it the Wisconsin Special.

Don’t even know if we can order an Arctic anything in the USA if buying from local shop. Might have to get out of Canada now

Yep, stihl won't sell any heated saws here at all. I remember a few years ago, stihl Canada was having a sale and the exchange rate was good. I got an arctic 261 shipped to my door for the same price as a regular one at the local dealer. I went in and told those guys that I wished I could've bought one from them, and that they should bring it up with their rep. They had no idea heated handles existed.
