I don't think Echo and Husqvarna will merge, but then again anything is possible. If they do, they will probably continue to operate as 2 different companies and my offer Echo dealers Husqvarna and Husqvarna dealers Echo.

Mergers mean dual ownership. Upper management does not look at things the way we do about a product. They look at things like balance sheets and bottom lines, and how to improve them. They may want to get into geographical areas that one has and the other is not allowed into because of lack of ownership in that area. They may merge to get more shelf space against the competition. They may merge to share raw materials. They may merge to get around tarriffs. Mergers usually mean that they don't need 2 management teams.
Management look at numbers and probably never held a piece of power equipment in their hands, ever.

What if we flip the script? Dealer got it wrong and Echo wants to buy Husqvarna from whatever *s-wordty corporate conglomerate currently owns it.

All japanese brands or better say major japanese like Echo & Shind are owned by a major umbrella.

Same stands for HVA, Stihl etc.

There’s no point at the moment to buy each other, markets environment are not prone to -economically speaking- so the if there is a case should/could be like joint venture or merging for their own reasons.

If anything like this comes alive it would remind me “Cerberus Group” of previous decades, they bought everything and anything for no reason.
