I read somewhere that they source bars from Tsumura sometimes, especially on the larger saws.

Well, where ever Echo gets them, they're really durable bars. Been holding up very well.

I did not expect this reply, or the tsumura one. Oregon makes them, the laminated bars with non replaceable tip wear out pretty fast. The pro grade bars aren't bad, but Oregon also makes bars for Husqvarna, poulan, and pretty much all others accept Stihl as far as I know.

The entire Echo lineup has bars sourced from Oregon and none have a removable tip.

It may not be made by Oregon, but it sure resembles one to me. Even on their little top handle large nose bars Echo seems to like the big holes in the sprocket tip, I guess for better dust clearing. This 20" came on a 620p. They do have the pro bars for their bigger saws up to 36".

They are just higher quality, not necessarily longer, but Cannon does make really long bars if you need. 8ft I think.

Holy hell, those Tsumua bars are pricey. I just looked them up on ebay out of curiosity. Ouch!

I find they cost about the same as any other good bar. Most of the bars that cost less than Tsumura I have seen are Chicom. I gave something like $45.00 for the 18" Tsumura bar on my Dolmar 5105 and it works great, money well spent. I wish somebody would import their K216 style bars for 50cc Echo saws.

I think Cannon would look better on Echo anyway. The value of the bar and powerhead would balance out to be on par with a Husqy or Stihl.

I’ve got a 20” echo pro bar and pretty pleased with the quality vs the basic echo bars. Nice Stihl style oiler port too. Running a 24” full skip Tsumura light on a 620p which is a happy combo but the 20” is good for firewood or rock maple.

The Dolmar branded Oregon bars and Oregon bars I have/use hold up very well for me.
Just saying, nothing wrong with their quality.

Oregon is probably like any other manufacturer, in that they can make whatever quality and price point the customer wants. I always liked their old USA made bars, they worked well and were certainly cheap enough.
