I'm about at my wits end with this thing. Bought it used and it would start but not run. Ok no biggie rebuild the carb and go from there. Did that, nothing. Same issue. Would fire but die immediately. Bought a traverse creek check valve less carb and put on. Ran great for about 10 minutes then rpm ran away and I had to hit the kill switch. Now again same issue. Tested the coil and it failed. Put a new coil on with the oem rebuilt carb and it would start and run but about halfway through cutting a 12" log it bogged down and died. Now it is again doing the same as whe. I first got it. Start with choke, push the choke in and start it with 2 pulls and it revs up and dies. Wth

Sounds like you could have an air or vacuum leak. You may want to pressure and vacuum test the saw to see if you have some torn rubber bits or a leaking seal.

After a few curse words and a couple coors I finally checked the impulse line. 🤦‍♂️ runs flawless now.
It happens, imagine pulling 30-40 times on a good saw with nothing...only to realize you forgot to flip the switch to "ON"...
