Up for sale a dolmar 7900 complete rebuild with new bearings, seals, gaskets, fuel lines, and a lot of other new parts. Has a super clean 52mm oe cylinder and has unlimited 272 coil swap. Really runs well has always had amsoil dominator and 93 octane. Would like to get $600 plus shipping for power head only but have some bars too if someone is interested.

Well that's why I am saying make an offer if someone thinks I am high than we can talk. I see them going for quite a bit not even running all the time. First thing someone does is try to jew you down $100 so we will see. Not costing me nothing sitting in my shop.

well I hope those people are only paying $100 for porting then...... I hate to be the guy that buys a new saw for a certain amount and then having it ported to only sell it for $200 cheaper than new...
Bit of a difference between "really good shape" and "brand new".

Except to the wood.

Well , I haven't paid attention to what ported 7900s are going for but I have seen ported huskies go for the same price or even more than new on here when used and better yet brand new ported huskies go for 2/3 or almost double the original price on here. So I'm a little confused on where people think the value on this saw is..

I kinda lol at the current market, so if one guy gets lucky and sells a used saw for more than new then thats the going rate?? What about the guy that's desperate for money and gives a saw away for a 1/3 of the value.. Is that the going rate too then???

I'm definitely not listening my 7900 on this site...

Ported saws make people cray cray.

Maybe a buyer can't be bothered securing a certain model, if it is even still available, then standing in line for a busy porter to do his bit. That could be worth a premium.
Appearance counts more to some then others.
Price expectations from sellers vary too as you say.

The ported saw trading world is imperfect, as are all markets.

My original point was true. You can, and I did, buy a very good condition top tier ported 7900 for less than $700. Not new, not nib, not nos.

You can price yours however you like, thats how a (free) market works.
