Got this one in for a rebuild about a year ago. Owner fell on tough times and decided to sell it to us. All OEM parts. New bearings, seals, gaskets, rings, etc.

New spikes, and chain rash guard. 1128 D handle.

Cut squish, base, ported, timing advance, muffler mod. Has an OEM MS361 coil, an 084 intake, and a Tillotson carb. HD2 air filter.

Has a few nicks in the handlebar rubber. Normal wear....but in excellent overall cosmetic condition.

Should be capable.
Definitely needs a capable man to hoss it.

I saw one at a local dealer a few weeks ago I said, "I used to think I wanted one of those. After seeing it in person, I no longer think that." The guy behind the counter said he couldn't handle one back when and definitely not now. I never actually said what I was talking about to him.

Using my 088 is one of my guilty pleasures . I bought it from a retired saw shop owner. I asked him why he ownes the saw out of curiosity, he told me that he mostly did charity work with it in the community. When there was a tree so large whether standing or on the ground he'd show up and conquered it!
I have to say it's hard not to feel like a hero when you save the day with the mighty stihl!
I try and do charity work and big stuff with mine and its nice to save someone hours of bucking a huge blow down in a few mighty cuts. The allure of a machine like this is not it's size but rather its potential for accolades and legend.Screenshot_20230408-192028_Gallery.jpg

Holy cannoli…this thing will put some hair on your chest I bet.
Of your not careful, it will take them off as well.... 😉

This is my dream saw. But, I will not cast a shadow of what I bough to fill the void. I will say this. Nothing beats the real McCoy.
