Going on a 6401 with a new 7900 top end I'm porting.

That guys a total hack.
Cases definitely require clearance work, shim out the oil pump, space up the cylinder and or cut the squish and you’re good to go.

Thanks for your hints, it sounds doable for me, so I'll take this into consideration once the time comes to work that saw.

Had to cut from both sides with the 7900 then noodle with the 590, even then the chunks are pretty heavy. The smurf never missed a beat.

The rounds are only 18” thick, it did such a good job bucking I was giving it a break from such a menial task as noodling.

Well I promised a video with a 32” bar and 8 pin. Running semi skip round file and the oiler has been modified to handle this bar. The wood is oak.

Thanks! I’m sure it won’t beat the fully ported with machine work builds, but it feels strong. Great torque and not terrible on fuel either.
