I agree, the slab sided was a little bit better design IMO, red coil, and a gutted muffler, these saws really perform well, I have 4-5 of them coming up to port very soon. 7300,7320,7900x2,7910 and a gorgeous 9010.
After running one of yours at Kris's gtg I had to have one! They are incredible!

Last Saturday I used my Dolmar PS-7900 with 36" B&C to noodle 40" long oak and beech "rounds".

It was a mainly Stihl loggers workforce and they all dropped their jaws not believing the saw can actually pull a 36" B&C setup all day long.

My Dolmar PS-7900 was the star of the gathering.

Well a new lgx chain showed up on the porch last min tonight (the one on the saw was waisted) so I through it on and did a rough tune on the 6421 (when I got the saw it was waaaay to rich!). As is it seams to be a good strong saw. I can only imagine what it will be like with the bigger jug! From the 2 min of run time I got I’m seeing why these are so popular. Can’t wait to play with it!!!
I will also need a tach now as I hear these limited saw are hard to tune with out one.

Well can’t blame them, there used to 462’s that don’t have near the torque of a 7900... :D:p

With a 47mm jug they are tugboats, with a 50mm jug they are screamers, they are both with a 52mm jug.
Talking all OEM only MM and otherwise factory stock.

Get Yourself a cheap China Tach/Hour meter off eBay, they will do the trick and are dirt cheap.

Actually yes, through small talk they said they use mainly nonMTronic 661's with 18" B&C, and lately defective 661's get replaced with 462's and either 16" or 18" B&C.

Wasn't JUST a regular 7900 either. I think its a MMWS 7900...
If You are referring to my PS-7900 - I wish!

Factory stock, only a humble mild muffler mod, carb tune less than optimal.

Yes it is!

Iggesund Forest R2 solid steel bar, 36" 115DL 3/8" , full complement , full chisel.

I am bucking and noodling with the bar fully buried, no problem. :D

My Dolmar PS-7900 only has a mild muffler mod, she is otherwise factory stock. :)

Same goes for my Dolmar PS-7310 which shares 36" B&C duty with my PS-7900. ;)
