Reaching out for help to you makita guys. I have a pretty clean 6421. It just quit oiling. Ive checked the drive is ok, the lines are clear. All i can get out of it is just some random spurts every so often, nowhere near enough to oil the chain in the wood. Are the oil pumps prone to failure on these? Do i just need to bite the bullet and buy a new pump and lines. Or is there something else i should check first

Hard to beat dealing with Nate.

I purchased the OEM oiler and line as well as everything else I needed for a DCS6421, from HL Supply.

I have only needed a few bits so far for dolkitas, got them from HL and SLE.

Plan on using Nate for future needs as I have heard nothing but good about him and like to support small business.

Not optimally, I do not posses a 90° handpiece.... But have used various bits and discs in the past...

I'd try to get the exhaust to 102, primary trans 128, secondaries 132 intake 80 for a long bar. Short bar I'd move the ex and trans up 4°

I just bought some property with a cliff face and a cave...,. Maybe there is some loot hidden in the cave and I can use it to get a decent boring setup and a nice foredom 90!

The intake floor is a little low. Burns a little extra fuel, but probably fine

The dolkita got its workout this weekend... 32" es light, square ground, silver maple. Chinese 660 died right after boring and setting hinge. Swapped bars in a hurry and forgot I had an 8 pin on till long after I was done... oops. Definitely had to tread lightly when it got down to the big stuff, but it did good nevertheless.

So if I can help it, keep it closer to 80.

And do you suggest more than 28 degrees blow down?

I get the transfers and staggering them.
