what are you using for a formula?

I checked with your way a bit and calculated roughly 4.5 -5 mm movement with 1/3 or .025 off key. Close enough for me. It’s hard to grind that cast key/measuring it and I don’t wanna risk taking too much off by accident. If you don’t have a degree wheel. Put a line from your jug to your flywheel. Then put another line 5 mm to the left. And advance it that much. 5mm of movement is roughly 6 deg.

If stock timing was around 28 degrees like mentioned previously in the thread and I got 3-4 more degrees advance I should be in the 31-32 degree range on the money in theory... my head hurts now lol.
Don’t forget, the OEM coil has a timing advance built in.It would be awesome to see what gains can be had on a stock 79XX from advancing timing only. I've heard mixed opinions on advancing the timing on these, but usually those are coming form various guys that are porting them.
Same hereOh, and I don’t even use keys any more.
They’re over rated.
Depending on price, I’d like a set of the small spikes
I'm interested if they aren't made of gold prices.![]()

What did you use to polish that muffler?
I agreeHard to tell, but I think that doesn't look like a OEM handle.
