doing 1/2" hex from my 1/4" HF Hercules impact?

I have 1/2" socket head bolts I want to use blue hercules harbor freight 1/4" impact driver on.

my 1/2" allen key fits the bolt, but I want to use my impact on it to get them tight so they don't loosen. These are socket head bolts at the end of each barbell at the gym. Tired of these bolts backing out. pic below of barbell, although this pic i grabbed off the web doesn't show these bolts. How do I go from 1/4" quck change on the drill to a 1/2" hex to fit the socket head bolt?

You need a 1/4 hex drive adapter to either 3/8 or 1/2 square, like this:



And then a 1/2 hex bit with either a 3/8 or 1/2 square drive to match, like this:



Best if both items are impact rated.

I did look for a 1/2 hex 1/4 hex drive bit that would fit directly into the chuck of your impact driver. But cannot find one.

The nearest I could find is this 12mm hex 1/4 hex drive Milwaukee bit. 12mm is almost 1/2 inch but it would be slightly loose and probably would wallow the socket in the head of the bolt.

How about a little Loctite vs trying to get them super tight with an impact? It would produce better results imo.

i actually tried that, probably a year ago by now, and maybe it's the few bars i didn't do with loctite that I'm using now.
But I didn't do them all with loctite because after doing a few I felt like those 1/2" bolts were using up all my loctite and I was getting annoyed, figured I'd see if the loctit'd bolts would work, I don't think they did. And that was using a 1/2" allen key by hand.

I picked up a 1/2" socket head set locally (pittsburg brand $14) that gives me the 1/2" hex and I had a 1/4" to 1/2" impact adapter thing, so all set. Hadn't seen a single 1/2" socket head hex thing anywhere else- which was really my question. And I didn't want to buy a $99 impact rated set.
