Basically you can't go wrong with any of the 3 I mentioned, if it's your first big impact you'll be kicking yourself for not getting it years ago.

Funny you speak of "spin" and opinion .....................a person's opinion of ancient versus new is quite subjective.

The build date of the DeWalt was the week of November 4th-8th, 2013
The build date of the Milwaukee was the week of March 7th-11th, 2016
3 years apart is still a huge difference when they do a complete change on stuff every 2-3 years usually. The previous impact to mine looked the same took same battery and was like 200 ft lbs less. The 2013 Milwaukee may not have been the fuel version or maybe it was but your dewalt was the end of the xr stick packs and all those were weaker.

Just stating depending on where dewalt and Milwaukee were at in their design stages that particular time of purchase one could be a new design vs the previous style of the other company. They obviously continue to change all the time to outdo the other one and your two you had were a previous generation dewalt against a current Milwaukee at time of purchase so yes it should be better just like the current dewalt has a bit more than the current Milwaukee but that may change next year who knows. I hope if they always improve when the new generation comes out no matter what brand. In ever comment ive made i said dewalt and Milwaukee are pretty equal your the one that seems to think dewalt isn’t close and thats fine your opinion. I also know contractors that have both because certain tools are better in each brand.

Never got into the Milwaukee tools. Run about $10k in Dewalt stuff. 60 volt and 20 volt. Everything has been good, though some tools are quirky.

Back in my Army Engineer days, all our tool kits were Dewalt cordless stuff. I did 3 one year tours in the Iraq war with that sht. I get a chuckle over the Milwaukee tool snobbery that is so prevalent.

Where the fk was Milwaukee cordless tools during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq?

Answer: they weren't there becuase they didnt exist.

Makita impacts are more durable than Milwaukee. Source: employer is dealer for both brands. I personally sent back a whole bunch of the red ones for repairs from a shop that cannot kill a blue one that they've had for years now. I only make this claim in terms of 1/2 & 3/4 impacts, specifically.
