Does this saw have the correct gas tank? 046

I bought this and I am worried it has a 044 tank. What do you guys think?

It's hard to tell from that pic. The 046 tank will come flush with the case on the side by the cap. The 044 tank is 5/8 inch narrower.

Just wondering, does it matter function wise? Will an 044 or 440 work on an 046 or 460?

I believe they will, but will have less fluid capacity. I see AM tanks are now available for the 460, finally!

Plastics change. Air box, top cover and more I think.

Plastics if you're changing out cases, carb mount studs if you're only changing the tank/handle.

I built a 460 case with 440 tank. Needed the 460 carb studs to go with the 460 AF base and cover.

I was disappointed to find out that it had a 044 tank.
I now have 5 044 tanks, 1 ms440 tank, 2 044 crankcases and cylinders, 2 ms460 crankcases and cylinders, two 046 crankcases with cylinders. The 046/ ms460 ranks are hard to find. I’ll probably end up going aftermarket when I fix the 460s.
