For porting?

I may have another job for it before it gets too hot…then probably won’t use it for the summer.

Both. I talked to a couple people who ported them and got the infos.

Dan and I did up the bar chain combo so we know to add the correct amount of dl. 14 stihl bar is I think 73 dl ... Dan will correct me

I just use the stock 72dl and re drill the bar including a path for the oil. 3/8 .043 cuts faster. Ported feels like it has more power than the Stihl micro 1/4 wants to take. I'll take 3 swipes off the depth gauges. Archer has a 1/4 chain without the safety bumpers.

I have used the 2511 a little here and there up in the bucket and occasionally for little blowdown limbs in my yard. I habitually check H tune by piss rev and it’s been ok. Yesterday I went to help my neighbor hollow out the stump of the widow maker pine. Once we got a small pocket, I got it down in there and was trimming out chunks. Hard work for me and the saw, stock chain is too much. Anyway I noticed it seemed a little lean so I free revved and didn’t get a 4 stroke. 1/8 turn fatter and it would scream a few secs at first and then 4 stroke. I cut a little more and tried again, same, went 1/8 turn fatter. Same except 4 stroking harder after the delay. Went back to the stump and it was obviously too fat in the cut but it was safe and I wanted to be done. These things are indeed a booger to tune. I put appreciated…maybe just tune it in the wood or back to the pain in the rear OEM procedure? Weather is cooler now.

I like the lightness but I wish my 2139 was sorted. I need to send it to @Stump Shot.

I have some old Oregon 1/4” bars coming for the 2511 I hope will fit but I gotta figure out how many DL I will need. 720DDDEF-45C4-438F-85F7-C8AB32F2799B.jpeg

I checked and parts are still mostly available for the 2139 so it's fine by me, go ahead and send it.

The 2511 does like to switch tune from time to time. Make sure your air filter is clear and keep in mind the possibility of an overheat. They’re pretty durable, but they were designed for short periods of hard work. They like to go lean if you’re repeatedly bucking logs at max bar length.
