Cylinder refresh with rings?

Rebuilding a 032 AV and have a cylinder and piston that I'm going to reuse from another saw. The previous saw had 155 psi before I disassembled it. The piston has no marks on it other than a little carbon on the top. The cylinder looks like a mirror, no marks on the inside. Should I use the cylinder and piston as is or should I run a little scotch bright in the bore and put on some new caber rings?

Why?

Make sure the intake skirt thickness is about the same as the exhaust side. Reuse the piston with Cabers.

I wouldnt use a golf piston on anything.

I'd just save money and use old piston since it's still got machine lines on it. Put cabers, or the hyway rings are pretty good as well imo. Check the bearings while you have saw apart, good chance to check everything and make sure it's good.

Cleaned up both the cylinder and the piston. Took some scotch bright to the cylinder and all it seems to be doing is polishing it versus putting any crosshatching on it. Should I worry about that?

Try 220 or 320 grit sandpaper. I wouldn't worry too much as long as the cylinder plating isn't chipped or worn through.
