FedEx has really sucked here. You never know where they will leave the pacdudes.
. Usually where they can easily be stolen or you will not see them easily. They left a tire on the roadside far from my house or mailbox. If I didn't see the label, it looked like a tire somebody pitched. They must have poor management now and a flock of mostly lazy duds.

The vast majority of FedEx delivery drivers are contractors.

brushwacker, I find myself telling stories to friends, kids, and even people like us on forums. If many hadn't happened to me personally, I would find them hard to believe.

My fed ex story goes back maybe 15-18 years when a package or documents I was expecting didn't show up for maybe a month or 2.
Somehow I was not inconvenienced too badly to have waited that long. Anyway, I seem to remember it being 2 months when I said, "OK that's enough, I need to call Fed Ex. " I did so and was on the phone to the ENGLISH SPEAKING customer service person. She was going through the info with me to report it as a lost package, when I heard a noise out in the road. I asked her if she could hold on a minute, someone was at my door.

I bet you can guess who it was. FED EX with my lost package. Yep, I was dumbfounded. HOW in the HECK could it be missing 2 months and then suddenly it appeared like MAGIC?

When we first moved to SC, we rented a place outside of town on a few acres. I was headed out to the truck to go to work when a flash of yellow caught my eye across the lawn up against the brush.

It turned out to be a DSL envelope with my check for the house we sold when we moved. Close to $100,000 just tossed on the driveway and picked up by the wind.

I get saws and parts in via UPS in 3-4 days a week and ship out with them so I depend on them. I get some things in FedEx and USPS but maybe once a week. In January 2024 between Thursday the 4th and Friday the 5th we had 2 feet of snow. The roads were passable as long as you used common sense. On Saturday the 6th it was drifting but you could still get around. I had a lot of packages coming in with UPS, FedEx, and USPS. I was not to concerned they missed the 4th and 5th. The week of Monday the 8th through Friday the 12th I was extremely pissed off as each one refused to delivery due to weather conditions. The funny thing was they refused on different days. All three should have been here Monday but only UPS showed up, then the next day none of them, Wednesday USPS shows up but not Fed Ex or UPS. That damned FedEx never showed up until the week after.

This is a joke...................

I think they left part of the quote off... "When it absoulutely, positively has to be there overnight...don't look at us"!

You put it in G rated terms..............I struggle with that.
I just got off the phone with a sales lady. I was trying to be as nice as I could but I knew it was over when these words left me mouth ahead of the filter.

"I know this might offend you but do not send me any more pics of a scantly dressed, tattooed up, female when you are trying to sell me a damn 40 foot shipping container. Unless she comes with it do not send a picture of her as she is irrelevant".

The sales lady did not know how to react

I am not sure if I ever bought anything from customchainsawparts or not, I know that I have bought odds and ends for my 075, 051's like flywheels, mufflers, other wear items, gasket sets and fuel system lines from various suppliers from ebay or private sources. . To this day, I believe I have gotten everything as presented.

Having said that, I will now have to review my purchases over the past 5-6 years to see if any items came from CCSP

Sure enough, I pulled up my ebay history, I got a pair of flywheels, a flywheel puller tool, an air guide metal heat shield for the 075, and a fuel line for the 075. All parts and tools received as advertised. I believe my purchases all were made in 2018 -2019.

I remember when the Stihl Gestapo threatened him with a cease and desist order because he was using the name "Cheap Stihl Parts".

Bill G, hmmm. Must have been before my time.

Speaking of cheap Stihl parts. Another forum member and I have been talking my way through carb repair and hard to pull start my 044.

He and I discussed the Stihl Part numbers for the rebuild kit, The Zama, RB-36 kit, and what others may have if they have a Walbro carb.
He also recommended that I get the genuine Stihl part and not Chinese junk aftermarket ones. He mentioned how he prefers to get his parts at the Stihl dealer in order to get the real deal and not off ebay. He mentioned that sellers would often post "OEM STIHL" parts and the buyer would receive packages with Made in China right on them. The dealer price I got was $34.

So, I told him that I had found a seller who had the Stihl ones in stock and that I had ordered 2 of them. For 2 kits for $27 total, shipped to me. YES an ebayer. Seller accepted my offer and was paid instantly on 5/14. It arrived Friday May 23, 9 days after purchasing, and his reason for it taking so long was that it hadn't shipped right away because he was out of town.

The first picture is what he advertised as

Stihl Nos Oem Carb Repair Kit 0000 007 1080. Stihl Factory Parts.

This 2nd pic is what I got. Needless to say, I reacted in 2 ways. One, HE was right about ebayers showing STIHL or other FACTORY parts and when you get them, they are ASIAN knock offs. The 2nd reaction was to write to the seller to express my disappointment and expectation for refund including return shipping. He received my message, and gave me the explanation of having 100's of the kits and he was sorry the ones pulled and shipped to me were not the Stihl packaged ones. Then he told me to keep them and refunded me my $27.

So, I have 2 free Asian kits and will go ahead and order the Stihl one from the dealer and basically have $11+ per unit in 3 kits.

Going into this, I was aware that my Zama Stihl carb says Hong Kong on it, and the Zama website says that the rebuild kit is RB-36. So, maybe the kit is indeed the same as what a factory ZAMA would take. Since I am chasing a malfunction issue, I prefer to have and use the STIHL part. I will do so. However down the road if I get the 044 working 100% with the Stihl kit, and it gets old and needs maintenance of a 2nd rebuild, I can now have these kits that say Made with parts from Japan, China, Hong Kong on the RB-36 packaging as backups.

Disclaimer, I did not get these from customchainsawparts but ebay user cat parts 1.

Back in the early 2000's when I first got into drumming and bought drum kits and cymbals, stands etc off ebay, a friend recommended paying with Postal Money Orders. If the seller tried to rip me off, my friend who had done ebay longer and played drums for decades longer, said it is technically Mail Fraud which carried a far stiffer penalty than just charge for whatever amount they tried to rip us off of.
