Custom 088 air filter

Making this air filter for my 088 mill saw



K&N 6" long x 3.75" diameter



Then outerwears, then 3 layers of foam

But will it breathe?
It should dang sure filter but a milling saw needs a little air too.
I would go carefully

I think that will be too restrictive. Just see how the rpm changes from last time you run it or check it without the filter and then put it on.

Sounds a little too restrictive to me as well.... But I've been wrong before

I'd think an oiled k&n and an outerwears would suffice? Idk. Never used k&n. I bought a cheapie uni style off eBay for $6. Oiled it and milled with it a couple hours and no fines got through

Never use old panty hose for a filter pre wrap. The exhaust odor will make trees wilt.

I'll have to compare it to stock, hd2, and a 6"*4" oiled uni. With all that surface area I thought it should be very unrestricted, maybe the fine foam first layer is too much???
