I finally got power back after the hurricane. I'm almost glad I didn't have power and couldn't watch Alabama beating Georgia last weekend. Vanderbilt beating them made my whole weekend.

I remember the days when unbeaten teams used to get punished in the polls for losing, severely punished for losing to an unranked 500 team no less.
I guess those days are long gone.

I used to work with a big "Bama" fan. I have not talked with him this year.........
I do know Illinois will get their asses handed to them next week at Oregon but Saturday was a great day for me.
I am an Illini fan and a fan of whoever is beating the chit out of Iowa.............It was a win -win.

He was born about 35 miles from me. His high school days were at Prophetstown which is about 75 miles from here. When he was playing at Prophetstown there were a 2A school and our local high school was 3A so they never met. By the time my sons were playing ball Prophetstown had co-op' with Erie High School. That put them in our conference. I looked back at IHSA records and he must have been one hell of a stand-out player because the team as as whole was middle of the road. His sophomore year they lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs. His junior year they did not even make the playoffs. His senior year they lost in the first round. He must have busted his ass because he made it as a walk on at Iowa and later earned a scholarship.
