I decided to try the butter method today on a pine covered saw.
I had mixed results.
I put the butter in the pan.
Then I added bacon.
I ate the bacon and it was delicious.
I forgot to do anything with the saw.
As I say, mixed results.
I dare say the bacon was tastier than the 3M products.

I spray with WD40 and let it soak for a few. Wipe and re-apply if necessary.

Rub in the Butter, 'n wash it off with Dawn dish soap,....

Don't matter whether it's yer hands, or yer saw,...

Plain ole creamery Butter,.....
I have heard that too.
Hardly ever cut pine so have not tried it.
Salted or un salted?

Pam in the spray can is a good one

purple power cut 3:1 or 2:1 and a toothbrush. don't let is set on there it will take the shine off also blow dry and wipe immediately. The toothbrush makes a huge difference!

WD 40 works for me and have even wiped WD on the saw to keep it from sticking. I didn't do the top handle or the rear handle (of course)

Lighter fluid/naptha also works well, fairly finish friendly. I think that's what Goo Gone mostly consists of.
Liberal quantities with a well soaked rag or toothbrush help a lot...
