I have a snelling441 and it performs really well.

I figured this site was about learning from others trials and errors and since JM is such a nice guy ( convinced me to run50:1), I have a gut feeling that we may find something unique about the 661.

There has been a lot figured out about the 661 around here lately, but I think there is still some on the table.

No doubt B Rad can build a good saw, he takes a different route than the way I like to build them but it don't mean his are bad.

Here is my unique 661 in some real hard oak

Second vid sounds strong....

Deets- I will concur, since the 661 has been tinkered with more, some great gains have been made. STIHL did a good job with this saw stock but when ported it seems that 390xp has some serious competition now. Before some 660s were created it was kind of obvious that the 390 was a power house.

Not talking bad about any builder here but it goes to show that all saws just need R&D.

She is holding 11,900 in the second cut, and I believe the only competition to a ported 661 is a ported 394/395
Still have to keep an eye out for some 390s.... the 395 is a saw I have not ran stock or ported.

I would like to start a husky/ j red collection as well.

More than one way to skin a cat.

But that understanding isn't always reciprocal.

Scott said his 066 is faster than both those 064's, I've ran Matt's 064 and Scott's 066 but not side by side. Need less to say they both are really strong! Be interesting if anybody has a 390 that would even keep up with them

Yea Jason's noodling videos proved the 066/660 was dominant against the 064 and 390.

I have too in different states. I wish we could have had the 066 there a few weeks ago to run against that 064
