I read today that the green one is what you want for non ferrous metal. I like the tan to bust through the plating. I know you can with a burr but sometimes it seems to add to being choppy and not cutting the shapes as smooth.

Both, really. It was developed by a wildland firefighter, and used/tested in about the most extreme and demanding conditions possible. It's also made in Idaho, so I buy local!
