Wonder how the site owners that are a company based on selling aftermarket saw parts like all the aftermarket parts are junk posts ? Seems like a kick in the sack to them in my opinion .

I'll use a lot of AM part, even clutches. Not all AM parts are equal, our site sponsors do a great job of keeping only the best AM parts in their inventory.

I dont say much, but i really wanna see someone use that electric hand planner to cut the base on a jug. I have a feeling it would be mighty aggressive, loud, and very very hard to control. I bet it would make a good video to watch someone trying to use it lol.

Something turning extremely sharp teeth at 14,000rpm within arm's reach even less so

I imagine more R&D goes into cleaning my teeth than making most AM parts

Edit: I've got some AM bits, side covers, a 288xb with a meteor whizzy thing, the amount of cheap rubbish around is insane tho. Just want bits that can do what's needed

After using stihls, if its not overpriced and ovef engineered it feels cheap

Yes i have noticed quality getting better over the years ,i have been running an aftermarket crank for several years and am very happy with it .Am sure the site sponsors have weeded out the inferior brands ,i have not tried aftermarket clutches ,looks like there have been some problems with them in this thread ,is there a brand you have had good luck with ? I would like to test them on my sawmill .

I've never had a problem with a hyway one. I had a bad AM 660 clutch drum once that was dragging all the time, causing the chain to spin, because it was out of round. I can't remember the brand, but it came vacuum packed with the clutch. I want to say it had green lettering on the packing. I needed it to work that day, so I put it on an arbor in the lathe and skimmed 0.005" out of the inside to fix it.

For the record, the broken clutch in my post was caused by a case pin walking into the clutch at speed.
I replaced it with another AM clutch, both performed quite well.
