I saw that one - it looks like the old Herr chainsaw vise. Most of those have a narrow bar that the bar studs bolt too. \

Then the swivel allows you to set the block in almost any position. I think Bailey's has a newer style.

I know he was gonna make some at one point. Not sure if that is one that he made. It’s pretty sweet

A cheap and easy way is to buy a Panavise Mount and add some type of fixture to it.

The mount I used accepted 1” round. I made up the flags out of aluminum, but @Moparmyway figured out a cheaper and easier way by just welding a piece of an old bar onto 1” DOM rollcage tubing. The chain adjuster required mine to have the slot machined.

Not as durable as the TM one at all, but it does the job as a fraction of the cost. I made a base mount for mine to fit into my Miller welding bench. It’s super easy for me because I can move it out of the way when needed yet still keep it mounted.

You can also go straight, this one is just a couple 5/16 x 3/4" bars welded on to the 1" round and then welded/connected on the end for a bit more strength. Some shaping (just 'cause) and any number of holes for bar pin clearance...

I bolted the base to a piece of angle stock and clamp it in the bench vice when needed, ends up at a good usable height.

I also ended up threading a hole in the knob and adding a 2-3" or so extension for ease of tightening.

These are great! And very inexpensive. Thank you!

@drf256 , how did you work around the chain adjuster?

I had the slot machined. One for the studs and a smaller one just under that slot for the adjustment pin. You could do it all on a drill press though.

I went with 1/4” aluminum for the flag and solid 1” aluminum round stock for the shaft, 6000 series.

Welds look a bit sloppy because I was more concerned with penetration than aesthetics. Even with preheat, the 1” bar took everything my 300 amp Tig had.

I made one similar to these other guys using a Wilton strong arm that I picked up for cheap. These are pics of it when it was just in the design phase.

It has been beefed up a bit with a piece of 1/2" tubing sandwiched between a couple nuts on the all thread then welded. I then mounted it to a heavy plate welded to a piece of angle iron so it can be put in the bench vice when needed and stored on the shelf when not in use.

Did you mean Rattler , Mattyo , Mustang , "MINE" , Me ???

IIRC, a certain 6’2” Strong Island Jason got that one
I was worried it would be getting in the way
I ordered a couple of bases and am going to go the steel/iron route as that is more convenient for me..
Things are getting quiet here so a bit of needling seemed to be in order.
I did see a UTUBE video and am thinking it was by Redbull tearing down a Stihl
??461 or 462?? in fairly short time. I really liked how his saw "Thingy ma Jiggy" was made. I am not good at posting links or pics but maybe some one will jump in.
