I've heard it said that kubota Orange is a good match for Stihl orange. I haven't used it. I usually paint my plastics flat black when they need to be freshened up.

The flat black paint I use advertises as having high solids. I don't know if this is much help or not but the paint I've been using seems to be pretty durable and fills in some of the lighter imperfections in the plastics quite nicely. You'll want to throughly degrease the plastics and maybe give them a light scuffing before you paint them

Aww man! Taking my fun away. lol Any particular reason why?
If you do paint the plastics dark blue I'd be curious how they look on the saw. Would you mind posting a picture or two?
Will do! I painted the air cleaner cover of an ol blown up saw I have with a blue I have on the shelf just to get an idea. I'll let ya know if I go through with this or not. lol

I almost bought a 6100, to go with my 421. Ended up with the 562 because it was such a good deal, but really like Dolmar!

I think that the paint from TSC is one of the best in a can, starts with a v and a bunch of other letters. Kubota is a good color, the old ford white/grey is a good match for old stihl and a couple of the others (IH) work on Huskies.

You got a better deal on a 562 than you did a 6100? My 6100 was at least $100.00 cheaper with a bar(a *s-wordty bar) than a 562/2260. And i liked the way it handled better.

Not better than the 6100, but close enough to make me want to jump in and see what all the fuss was about.

No local Dolmar dealer, and I was within about $50 of the 6100, so jumped. Not following the last part of your post exSW.

Never mind, RIT dye. Found it.
