MS460 ported by Kevin
I want to run my 28" bar that has not been on the saw for many years.
I like Oregon full chisel chain
Should I run full comp, semi skip, full skip?
Will be cutting nothing but good ol' Pa. dry red and white oak dead poles, will be cross cutting and noodling.

Part number for the Oregon please

Always ran Oregon full comp chisel seems to cut smoother in hardwoods.

I agree on the full comp. Skip might be better for noodle clearance…but skip was also real rough, jerky, grabby noodling in oak.

28” is anywhere from 91-93 DL depending on bar and saw, not sure on Stihl.

That saw will pull full comp no problem. I run 32" full comp on my MMWS 461 all day long.

I bought a loop of 72EXL91 on ebay for 30.50 shipped. Only need 1 loop, I have 2 loops that are nearly worn out and I rarely use this bar. It hasn't even been on the saw for over 10 years. I was cutting with my son last summer and he had a 32" bar on his Echo. I asked him why such a long bar and he said it is a lot less bending over and reaching. Gonna try it, may be a bit easier on my back. Kevin..............he was totally impressed with my 460. Haha
