Can anyone ID this McCulloch fuel tank?

20160204_164604.jpg A friend of mine found this fuel tank in the woods. It appears to have been mounted on top of a piece of equipment. It has a handle on one end and it looks like at carburetor may have been mounted directly to the back of the tank. 20160204_164613.jpg

I believe the 3-25, 4-30 and 47 used the same tank but i
don't have ipl's to verify. They all look the same.

With it having a different emblem and the raised area in the middle, it looks different than the OP's.

I did a quick search and what i seem to find is the 4-30 is what the OP
has with the raised center portion. The 3-25 and 47 do not have that.
I learned something today.

Thanks guys. Great information here. To be honest, I wasn't even sure if it came off of a chainsaw. My feeble mind was having trouble picturing how it would have fit on a saw.
