Hey guys. I have come across a barn find. A Jonsered 630. I pulled the muffler and the piston looked great! Even still had a wet film! It has a Tillotson carb. Idk module yet but spark was only intermediate at best.
Are there parts available for these? Are they even worth fixing up?
How much is one worth in good working order?

Given the silver tag, that model has a 2 piece ignition coil and module. Clean it up really good and check the wires for continuity. Sand the fw and coil clean and try it for spark again. The cases aren't compatible with the newer 1 piece ignition. I don't have any ignition parts, but I'd check with spike60, bplust, or smokey7 if you need those. Same case as husky 266, 268, 272, 162, 61 so many parts are still available. They're a great saw. I've got lots of pics if you need some for reference

They're easily upgradeable to 272xp.

Even the older 2 piece? I've never looked at Northwood before. That would be nice
Well now. They did, but I just looked and all I see at the moment is the 288 two piece. Out of stock maybe?

I have seen them elsewhere too, so somebody is making them

site sponsor sells the coil but not the module but i'm pretty sure both are still available new from husky, although the module is kinda pricey. Like said before make sure connections are clean and check wires were they run in the case for chafing. Other than that if still needed should be able to find used reasonable.

Just was looking around on hls website again if you look under a husky 162 they show the module and if you look under a husky 266 they show the coil. I knew i had seen both there before. They sell for 29.99 ea, much more reasonable than husqvarna.

Oops, just realized this was in reference to HL, not Northwood. $29.95 isn't so bad...

Great news. It has spark. I didn't have much time to do much so next week I will try to put some fuel in the carb and see if she will turn over. :) it will be nice if I can get her back up and cutting.
I must admit making it a 272xp is appealing :eusa_whistle:

Check the carb also. Some of these had a small carb. Some had a larger one

It likely has a tilly 225. Great saws I absolutely love mine. I am going thru my parts saws building a 625 and 670 so I feel ya on spending a bunch on parts. Does this saw have top covers ? I'm also betting it has a 2 ring piston? When they are tuned well they rock out with the #### out.
